Stinking Rotten Rich

Stinking Rotten Rich
All those stinking rotten rich
have had too much of it,
not theirs, not ours, and not a bit
do they give up…
And the Bank of England swine,
are having quite a time.
they need to recognize it’s time,
to give it up…
When did machines come join our hands
and start sectioning off the land?
When did they vaccinate our thinking,
all those stinking rotten rich?
And all those educated fools
have trade, but not the tools –
they’ll break your spirit not the rules,
and we give up…
And like the pigs rolling in shit
we should be free to roll in it,
without reprisal or regret,
but we give up…
When did machines come join our hands
and start sectioning off the land?
When did they vaccinate our thinking,
all those stinking rotten rich?
Then the machines came joined our hands
and started sectioning the land,
then they did vaccinate our thinking,
all those stinking rotten rich….
Is it too good to be true?
The more you live,
The more you live through,
the more you learn,
the less they give to you –
is it too good to be true?
The more you live
you live through
the less you learn
the more they give to you –
is it too good to be true?
When did machines come join our hands
and start sectioning off the land?
When did they vaccinate our thinking,
all those stinking rotten rich?
Then the machines came joined our hands
and started sectioning the land,
then they did vaccinate our thinking,
all those stinking rotten rich…

Dog's Day

Dog's Day
There’s a landslide coming,
you can hear wires humming,
distant dogs are barking,
all the walls are crumbling.
The Kingdom’s finally falling
to days we’ll all come crawling,
bring it quick – stop stalling….
The water’s swelling in the bay,
my mind is willing it each day,
this dream could carry me away,
but devil dog will have his way.
There’s a cold storm brewing,
All the way to ruin,
Heart-ache over-flowing -
going one way only,
and you’ve got to get out of the way,
you’ve got to get out of the way,
‘cause it’s one way only…
The water’s swelling in the bay,
my heart is willing it each day,
this dream could carry us away,
old devil dog will have his day.
And what we know we know we won’t know
but the lilac glow of a world below,
and I won’t care if everything blows –
we’ll have the orange glow of the world below,
and all those souls not destined to grow
can all be framed in life in the golden glow,
and they won’t care when everything blows –
they’ll have the orange glow of the world below
The water’s swelling in the bay,
my heart is willing it each day,
this dream could carry us away,
old devil dog will have his day.

Badge On Your Collar

Badge On Your Collar
Why are you so down with me today, today?
Down today…
Did no-one tell you – you make your own way?
If perhaps you’d trust in me you’d see,
you’d really see – I’m not a nutter,
I’ve only been there – I wear a badge on my collar.
If I could pass this message onto you
you’d wear it oh so well with blue.
It keeps the vampires all at bay,
you’d walk away with a new point of view..
But you’re stuck in ruts so infinite in obstacles –
your guts in tatters,
I can’t convince you – none of it matters.
And if perhaps you’d trust in me you’d see,
you’d really see – you’re such a fretter,
you say you’ve been there,
then wear a badge on your collar.
If I could make you see
without all this telepathy
you might take my advice
I’m sorry if I patronize,
just trying to wise you up,
I think I’m justified..
so why not try?

Choice Is Your Control

Choice Is Your Control
Sometimes you consume me,
there’s a fire in your belly
and the flames they lick your tongue.
I know you know me well by now
but can’t expect you to know how I was
when I was young.
There’s often confidence
that’s borne of negligence
and that’s where you found me.
You proved the consequence
of being negligent
of your own philosophy.
You read my thoughts and still came home.
I thought that you’d want to move on…
I try to simplify,
but over-complicate,
then bury truth like lies –
as if to compensate.
I underestimate you,
then find myself surprised
when you unveil a mental state
by simply looking in my eyes.
You read my thoughts and still came home.
I thought that you’d want to move on…
Choice is under your control.
Choice is under your control.
Choice is under your control.
Choice is under your control.

All Your Love

All Your Love
She fell from the floor of a multi-storey car-park.
He came to her rescue, too late to rescue her falling heart.
Born in late September, had it all stacked against her from the start.
Leaving children behind, they too will die in their time.
It’s all off my mind, and seems so unkind, let’s just all unwind.
High-jacked Easy Jet, no body-parts found yet,
let’s all forget – what we’re doing here, never time to be sincere.
Pioneers, have long disappeared.
All your love must come to something.
It’s all in my mind, and I’m leading you blind, leave me far behind.
Pray to your moon and stars,
they might be strewn and far,
but they’re all that’s listening,
all that’s glistening,
and all that’s truly beckoning
you.

Waltz #2
Your confidence it knew more bounds
than you gave it credit for,
for if you knew where it raised me from
perhaps you’d use it more.
I know all woes are relative,
but it doesn’t ease the load.
You say your outlook’s positive
but your eyes aren’t hard to decode,
your eyes aren’t hard to decode.
Why can’t you say what is wrong?
Why is it you hold your tongue?
Your waking in the night again
and thinking of the past,
wondering how to find the feeling
and make the feeling last.
There’s medicine in mirroring
and you took my troubles on,
I’m trying to return the turn
before the morning comes,
before the morning comes.
Why can’t you let yourself go?
What awaits you down below?

Travelling Light
How much further can I sink?
In front of you?
I always talk before I think,
when I’m talking to you.
Under any other sky
we’d be plain sailing,
but without the heart to try
we’d be forever failing.
What was the use in running away?
Before saying what you wanted to say?
We took a scenic detour,
Resurrected by the route
Losing sight of what we strived for,
found two bodies in the boot.
And down any other road,
we’d be free-wheeling,
instead of towing or being towed
toward bad feeling..
And if we carry on following easy tracks
we’ll just be following sheep.
Though there’s safety in numbers within the pack,
whose keeping fat souls from their sleep?
Underneath the stone,
you’ll find a skinny plastic man.
His bones won’t erode –
He’ll be waiting for your hand
and down any other street
you’d have your own door key,
but this way our paths might meet
and we’ll be home free.
That rolling stone that gathers no moss
doesn’t live the life without feeling loss..
So if you feel you need a port in a storm
steer your vessel to me,
I’ll try my best to keep us warm,
Until we’re back out on the sea.

Hollow

Hollow
Faking all your chivalry, making me a rivalry,
just you try and deny.
The people you’re degrading can’t see you’re masquerading
just quite like my eye spies.
One of life’s failures, could easily de-rail you if I tried
but I’ve left this fate to the Gods and the greats
and they’ve let me lie.
Hollow, you leave me hollow,
All you seem to do is wallow.
There’s no sense I can make,
no amends I can make,
save yourself for your sake -
I’ve taken all I can take.
Careering into puppetry wasn’t really quite your scene,
You’ll admit you weren’t fit.
Belittling the enemy when most of it was decency -
you were ill-equipped.
Calling infidelities slight on someone’s dignity,
you’re devoid of feeling
Hollow, you leave me hollow,
All you seem to do is wallow.
There’s no sense I can make,
no amends I can make,
Save yourself for your sake -
I’ve taken all I can take.
I will make sense one day,
make amends some strange day,
save myself for my sake,
give more back than I take.

Meet Me Off My Train

Meet Me Off My Train
You took the walk to meet me off my train,
at the station, but something stopped you
dead in your tracks, was it me?
Dead on the tracks?
You had something to tell,
at the thought of it, you fell ill.
Don’t meet me off my train –
I can’t live with what you have to say.
And if you fall into the gap between the train,
and the platform, someone might just hoist you up,
but they’ve got to pull you before the train takes off.
Was it the young you?
The young you, who fell into the gap?
Do you think you’ll ever see that young you?
Or get that young you back?
And if I let you meet me off my train,
will you know me? Sometimes people change a lot
when they live away, will you know my name?
I don’t think I’ll feel the same,
on or off the train –
it’s all the same to me.

Tirade

Tirade
The crowd they really had a laugh at her,
a scoff at effort though it was in seed.
She took a bow just when the laughter wore off,
their laughed-off heads were rolling in the street.
This is often where the move is made,
though in delay, it strikes a deadly fate.
At the back you’ll hear the cash exchange,
you’ll hear the deal’s been made,
you’ll hear the laughter fade away.
You’ll hear the sound of a tirade,
sent up to summon an air raid,
she says ‘this isn’t just child’s play!’
She isn’t placing others downstage.
At the back he drew a comic book,
either by hook or crook he’d get a steady hand.
But he had the book thrown at his head,
‘A waste of time’ they said, they weren’t to understand -
He’d have imaginings in all the stores,
And walls galore, and stacked up on the stands.
He’d have a line of heroes in his name,
beyond living fame they’d live on in his fans.
He’ll be drawing up a new age,
only in wake of the old age,
he’ll set the bird free from the bird cage,
by penning witness to the blank page.
She gave and took a blow straight to the gut,
put herself in a rut, but still forgave the blamed in vain.
It wasn’t her call to call punishment,
and nor the government, but in astonishment it came.
The answer, all along, was mirroring
what she was questioning, in spirit and in name,
the words she uttered were already there,
a quiet prayer, scratched out in the tain.
She’ll feel them running up behind her -
the pack that used to run beside her,
their teeth will tear what lies inside her,
the sky will open to receive her.
You set them running
and they know just where they’re running to…
You set them running
and they know just where they’re running to -
You...

Waltz #3
You plucked Autumn from the trees,
you brought Winter to its knees,
you brought the sun down to me,
you brought the sun down.
And the bird on your arm
can raise the alarm,
‘cause the bird on your arm
is what keeps me from harm.
You sing Spring in every breath,
you breathe life into the face of death,
you’d kill Queen Elizabeth,
and bring me her head.
And the bird on your arm
can repeat the alarm,
‘cause the bird on your arm
is what keeps me from harm,
and the bird on your arm
can repeat the alarm,
for the bird on your arm
is what keeps me from harm.
